also, i have been watching ROSWELL...a super awesome late 90's early 2000's show and also watching my cat eat flies. this summer will rule.

I love the movie Brick. It is a film noir set in a high school, which for some reason I find hilariously funny, but also very real, in noir world that is, no one is like this is the "real" world. A lot of the noir sayings sound a little lame in the context of the school, but at the same time you can't help but want to talk in the fast and cleverly disguised way. I don't know, I would prefer an older noir over this (I tend to enjoy th costumes in period pieces more because they are obviously 100% accurate, a 1940's movie will have accurate 1940's clothing), but this is a great film. An interesting twist on a genre that is not so popular anymore. I ALMOST want to be involved in an underground ring of heroin dealers and drive a silver convertible. almost.

Also, I REALLY love Laura's coat that she wears at the end of the movie. I want one, but all of the vintage ones I can find have real fur collars and I am not sure that I am down with that. Is it okay for a vegetarian to wear a fur collar if the coat was purchased second hand? I did not kill the animal nor did I buy the coat initially...or is it a matter of principal?
